Welcome to Cherokee Elementary!

My name is Debbie Humphreys.  This is my third year as the School Counselor at Cherokee Elementary School and my 34th year in education. I retired from Tennessee before my husband and I moved to Georgia. I am the mother of two sons, Casey and Dustin.  They are both married and live in other states.  Dustin has just started working as a teacher in another state as a Chemistry teacher,  One of the highlights of my life is two-year-old Ava Kathryn, who is my granddaughter.  You may check my educational training under the teacher link.  Look for Humphreys.

Be sure to check out the guidance links and presentations.  We have a very active "I Care" Program in our school. Look at the "I Care" Incentives under forms.  We are using the EBIS program for Tier I Behavior Modification for students.  We call our program the Cherokee Chero-Bee Program.  Teachers use a daily calendar called a "Buzz Report" to communicate with parents whether a student is at the "Top of the Hive", "Stuck in the Hive" or"My Bee Didn't Fly".  Students may also receive a "Bee Sting" for parent communication of various situations.
